Is It Real? ^_^

This week we have been learning about how to tell if a website is true or fake. Our main topic was the tree octopus! The tree octopus is a hoax.(A hoax is a made up thing to trick people and stuff like that) Lots of people have made websites about the Tree Octopus, some saying that it is a hoax, but a bunch of people don't say that. anyways, first off, octopi cannot breath out of water. SECOND! There isn't such thing as the word, "octopuses". It is actually called, "octopi". THIRD! if a website has a bunch of spelling mistakes or missing punctuation, it may not be true. Fourth is that most true websites have an email, some information about them or how to contact them and stuff like that. There's a lot more but that's just pretty boring stuff, we read a few articles, a story and made a poster.

The next thing I did was a fake animal. 

Here it is!

His name is Jeffery. He's "ToAtAlLy ReAl". The way I made him was I got up a blank google draw and searched up Cat, Bird and Giraffe by pressing, CTRL, SHIFT, ALT and I all at the same time. Then I took a screenshot of the pictures I wanted and went onto Remove.BG and got as much of the animal as I needed. for the Giraffe I didn't need to use Remove.BG because I searched up Giraffe png and then double clicked on the picture and cropped it to the right part. There are a few other tasks I need to do but they are pretty boring so I didn't include them. Thank you for using your time to read my blog post. READING THE WHALES!

 This week and some of last week the green reading group have been working on a reading passion project. We chose a topic and then did some research on different sites so that we could get our story, read it, put it into a google slide and then put it into our own words. Me and another girl called Renny chose the same topic, it was whale strands! We didn’t ACTUALLY have to choose our passion, but some of the boys liked hunting so they did that, but another boy likes something else but doesn’t choose that. If we see something we are interested in we can choose it as our topic. I went on lots of different sites and searched up questions on google. Then I put them into my own words and onto the slide. I also put in the links to the sites I went on. It was really fun and cool. Here is a photo of my work and if you want to read it just click on the picture!

My Helicopter

 Today our class made paper helicopters! We made the helicopters for a reading task, basically we got the idea because on the reading book the persons cat got run over and he turned dead cat into a helicopter! Its pretty funny. All you need is a paper clip, and a strip of paper. Then you fold the strip of paper in half and take out the sides, then you fold them down a little bit to the side like this,

after that you fold the bottom part and it should look like this,

then make the sides go out a bit

After that you slide in the paper clip and it should look like this,

Then you stand up on a chair or something a little bit high and let it drop. Here was my video of me, Haki,  and Xanthe! I went a bit before them by accident but Haki was cheating a bit because he had two paper clips, if you put on two it goes down faster!

Reading! My Limerick and unsinkable boat!

Hello everyone! This week we have been working on the Titanic for reading! Some of the tasks were to write a limerick, poem, or rap about the Titanic or something related to water, and to create a boat that will NEVER sink. First I did my Limerick,

 Then I created a boat that will never sink! Here is it at night when lights are on,

 Here it is at day!

This is my inventing slide, where I create some things and colours and different shades to copy and paste them onto the boat!

 Now I am going to show you how I made the light shining out of the lights and the back round dark at night! Like this, 

First I went to shapes and got a rectangle,

Then I pressed Ctrl + Shift + The down arrow, to teleport it to the back,

  I made it black,

 I pressed costom,

 Then dragged the part at the very bottom until I found the right shade!

And my back round is now dark! I did the same with lights accept a different colour. I hope you learnt something from this!

Bruce Mclaren reading.

Hi everyone! This week we have started reading a bit about "Bruce Mclaren". For my story map, I thought of copying and pasting from a different story map I made, it had a super car in it. That's why I copied and pasted in the car, then I thought of making a road, I didn't know if it really looked much like the Grand Prix- (pronounced, gran-pree) road, but at least I tried! Here's what my story map turned out like,

I named the story map "young famous racer", because for one of our tasks we have to come up with a new name for each story! The original name that they had named the story was, "In His Blood". I also put a bit of decoration beside the name, right here, 

As you can see, I pressed, "ctrl c ctrl v" that's how I copy and paste, but I have to click on the thing I want to copy, and I drag my mouse like this, 

Except I drag my mouse, anyways, then I make the cars smaller and drag them up to the top. I made my story map have a super car and road because it matches with the story, they have super cars and Grand Prix roads in the story, and I really want to remember the story map of the super car and not just leave it in my drive on a folder, because I worked so hard on it! I'm really starting to love the super car I made, I've liked the look of my super car for a long time. We learnt quite a lot about Bruce Mclaren from the story, we learnt about his first race at the age of 15, we learnt about the time he had gotten a very bad disease called, "Perthes Disease" which made him unable to walk for two whole years! We also learnt how he was the youngest person to win a Grand Prix and so much more! We even got to make a bio cube about him! Here is mine!

It has a lot more writing on different slides, we used cube creator to make it, this is what we did. 

 We pressed, "get started",

 this came up so we clicked the button on the top,

then we clicked allow,

 this came up so we put our name in,

 then clicked "BIO CUBE"(purple box)

And then this appeared and we put all the information in and just kept pressing next when we were done and then sent it to the teacher and they print it out for us to put together! I hope this helped! 

Batman Story Map

Today I have started my story map for reading, the topic is about Batman this time. here is what I drew,

                         

Also I had drawen something else for it, but im not as close to being done as I am with batmans room, that was batmans room up there, but im not done with it yet, well, im not done with both but I will soon!

My Favourite Story-Map So Far.

Today, I was looking for one of my best story maps I have done. Then I remembered about this one that we did not that long ago. This was one of my FAVOURITE ones I have ever done. I worked so hard on it! ALSO! It was my absouloute FAVOURITE one! I just had to put it on my blog, how could I not! I hope everyone thinks the same... cause I worked SUPER hard.

Catching Flies

I like this chapter because it has lots of describing words in it and it has food and I love food.  I also like it because it has berries, fruit and stuff like that, I also like how they described the food. That is why it is my favourite poem.

Seeing Eye To Eye Or Not

Why did Mr Beedle tell the children of when they were playing bullrush? Why did Lucy's dad turn of the tv? Why did Safia agree with Lucy's Dad? Why did Parker agree with Lucy? How did Lucy react after her Dad turned of the tv?
